Whimsical Vases

With these vases I explored the transition from childhood, where everything around us was seen as a toy, to adulthood, where the objects we surround ourselves with are rarely toys.
As adults, we curate our spaces with countless objects, many of which lack a specific “function” - think vases, sculptures, or purely decorative items. Yet, somehow, toys and the functions of play and joy have been deemed unworthy of inclusion in our environments.
These vases attempt to challenge this notion. Positioned as aesthetic pieces, they competes\ with other decorative items in design and form. However, their sole true purpose is to encourage and celebrate the act of play.

Exhibited in SF Design Week 2025.
