Fanous
Fanous is a rotatable floating lantern, inspired by geometric pattern decorating the windows of many mosques around the world.
In Islamic art, the philosophy of the origin point symbolizes God of which all was created. Here, the origin point is represented by the central star. When set in motion as the user spins the lantern, it gives rise to all other colors, forming intricate and beautiful patterns.
The design features heavy ornamentation on the sides, as they serve as the primary touchpoints between the user and the lantern. The varied textures allow the user to feel the craftsmanship and the depth of detail embedded in the piece.
